These are useful planning inputs to gather, not a complete permit-submission checklist:

• The place: property location, known lot information and the jurisdiction to confirm.
• The house: doors, windows and the wall beside the proposed deck.
• The deck: intended footprint, dimensions, height, stairs and how you want to use the space.
• The ground: changes in grade, access and existing features that may affect the layout.
• The open questions: existing structure to assess, connection to the house versus a freestanding design, and measurements still to verify.

A few common questions

Can I get a deck permit through this site?

Not yet. Custom design, permit documents and submission services are in development. Applications go through the relevant authority; this hub is a resource guide.

Does Hamilton County review every project in the region?

Do not assume that. Start by confirming the property’s jurisdiction, then check both building and zoning responsibilities. The City of Cincinnati has its own Permit Center; the Anderson Township example shows how two offices can be involved.

Will this support Northern Kentucky or other states?

That is a possible later step. Greater Cincinnati is our first market and Hamilton County is our first pilot. Wider coverage is not available yet. Read about our local focus.
